Jimi Hendrix

Since the death of Jimi Hendrix, more than 300 albums have been released in his name. Anyone who thought they caught half a solo on tape, rushed to the pressing plant. Now the official back catalogue is in the hands of the family. Earlier this year relatives of Hendrix won a battle giving them the rights to an Internet address bearing the artist’s name. A United Nations arbitrator ruled that www.jimihendrix.com belonged to the family of the late rock star. It had been registered by American Denny Hammerton, but at a hearing in Geneva, the World International Property Organisation ordered him to surrender ownership, claiming that he had no legitimate interest in the name.creditbbc

A Tribute To Syd Barrett

Friday, June 27, 2008

Eric Clapton's "Live at the Marquee."

Eric tinkered with his band line-up a bit. On stage were Doyle Bramhall II (guitars / backing vocals), Willie Weeks (bass), Abe Laboriel Jr (drums), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Sharon White (backing vocals) and Michelle John (backing vocals).
Abe Laboriel Jr is well known to music fans as the drummer in Paul McCartney's band in recent years played with Eric after Abe's Independence Concert in Kiev with Macca.

New Genesis DVD When In Rome 2007

musicramble.com posted about the new Genesis DVD that's available today. It's called "When In Rome 2007" and it's a three DVD set, wrapped in a deluxe digipak. It's only available in Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores, but it's also available online at genesis-music.com.

This exciting new release includes the original open-air concert at Rome's Circo Massimo before 500,000 fans, plus a tour documentary. Which is very interesting since Genesis, Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford, reunited after 15 years and undertook one of 2007's most successful tours.

Besides the entire 2 hour and 36 minute concert, the new DVD set includes photo galleries, deleted scenes and photographic reproductions of tour programs.

During the 2007 tour, Genesis played to a staggering 1.4 million fans during 22 European dates before heading to North America.
